This workshop will explore the self and the importance and role of the individual in community. Participants will make artwork for themselves, but also work together as a group on one piece.

This program is made possible by the PNC Foundation.

Now in its 15th year, the Inside|Out program brings high-quality reproductions of the DIA’s collection to outdoor venues throughout metro Detroit to increase engagement between the museum and its diverse audience.

From now through October, residents of Macomb, Wayne, and Oakland counties will be able to enjoy a piece of the DIA outside in their own community. Each community will display a number of reproductions outdoors clustered within walking or biking distance. Learn more about the program here!

Come watch the best K–12 Michigan student films on the big screen. Held annually at the Detroit Film Theatre, the Michigan Student Film Festival has been the signature event of Digital Arts, Film & Television (DAFT) for 56 years.

This juried festival is a high honor for students and has served as a gateway for past participants to careers in the film industry. All types of genres will be shown, including narratives, animation, news broadcasts, experimental films, and documentaries. 

For families with children 10 and up. 

Program schedule:

  • 10 a.m., Kindergarten–8th grade awards
  • 12:30 p.m., 9–12th grade awards
