Create a pencil drawing to take home while taking a closer look at the collection. No experience is necessary, and all supplies are provided. For ages 6 to adult (children 12 and younger should be accompanied by an adult). Capacity is limited.

The Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio—or as it is sometimes referred to, DLO3—specialize in the lost art of “feel good music.” 

The ingredients of this intoxicating cocktail include a big helping of the 1960s organ jazz stylings of Jimmy Smith and Baby Face Willette; a pinch of the snappy soul strut of Booker T. and the M.G.s, The Meters and sprinkles, Motown, Stax Records, blues, and cosmic Jimi Hendrix-style guitar. 

In recognition of Heart Health Awareness Month, join the DIA Artmaking Studio for a 90-minute workshop celebrating self-care and self-love. In this session, participants will use tissue and crepe paper to create a bouquet of flowers and decorate a vase for their completed arrangement.

No experience is needed, and all materials are provided.

Recommended for ages 12 and up. Youth under 16 must be accompanied by a guardian.

Join the Teen Arts Council for a celebration of the many types of love in this tile-decorating workshop. Participants will learn about the materials, uses, and stories behind select tiled artworks in the DIA’s collection. They will also take part in a scavenger hunt to win prizes and create a collaborative final project from their individual tiles, all centered on the theme of love. Materials and lunch are provided.
