Make a collage using magazines, colorful scrap papers, and photos you take yourself, using a mini digital camera that instantly prints out your photos.

Create your own pencil drawing to take home while exploring the collection up close. No experience necessary, and all supplies are provided. Open to ages 6 through adult (children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult). Space is limited.

This lecture explores Louis XIV’s Savonnerie carpets—woven for the Galerie d’Apollon and Grande Galerie of the Louvre—one of the most ambitious and enigmatic masterpieces of the Baroque era. Commissioned on a grand scale, The King’s Carpet (le tapis du roi) consisted of 92 individual pieces designed to cover the entire span of the Louvre’s Grande Galerie—six times the length of the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles.

Composed of student vocal ensembles from across the Detroit Public Schools Community District, this concert features selections spanning multiple genres, from pop to classical, African American diaspora music, and pieces from around the world. The performance showcases DPSCD students from every grade level in an impressive display of talent, skill, and creativity.

Use foam printing plates, water-based inks and a wooden stylus to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind hand-pulled prints on paper. Fold in half to make a card. Envelopes are provided!

The Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio—or as it is sometimes referred to, DLO3—specialize in the lost art of “feel good music.” 

The ingredients of this intoxicating cocktail include a big helping of the 1960s organ jazz stylings of Jimmy Smith and Baby Face Willette; a pinch of the snappy soul strut of Booker T. and the M.G.s, The Meters and sprinkles, Motown, Stax Records, blues, and cosmic Jimi Hendrix-style guitar.
