DIA + The Henry Ford STEAM Educator Workshop

The Detroit Institute of Arts and the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation have teamed to host our first joint STEAM educator workshop! Participants in this workshop will learn about everything both institutions offer teachers and students, including field trips, professional development opportunities, learning resources, and more.

A member of the DIA’s Conservation team will introduce teachers to the exclusive “Putting The Steam in Stem” field trip, where students learn how scientific investigations authenticate, date, and preserve works of art in the museum’s collection. DIA Gallery Teachers will also model the “Technological Innovations Through the Ages” student experience.

We will take a short bus ride to the Henry Ford, where participants will learn about the Model i Framework, a universal language for teaching and learning about innovation at every stage of the talent pipeline, as well as other resources and opportunities!

Transportation, lunch, and State Continuing Education Clock Hours will be provided.
