As the Detroit Institute of Arts prepares to reinstall its Contemporary Wing, join the Friends of Modern and Contemporary Art for our annual meeting, followed by presentations from three artists featured in the display: ceramic artist Anina Major, furniture designer Jack Craig, and glass artist Kim Harty, as well as a panel discussion moderated by Shelley Selim, Mort Harris Curator of Automotive, Industrial, and Decorative Design.
An FMCA members reception will follow. Separate registration is required.
Friends of Modern and Contemporary (FMCA) supports and enhances the DIA’s James Pearson Duffy Department of Modern and Contemporary Art by promoting art and design of the modern era up to the present day. FMCA also creates fundraising initiatives that contribute to the purchases of important new works of art in variety of mediums.
