DIA Studio staff will help you snap a portrait with an instant film camera then use a variety of art-making materials, including beads, markers and collage papers, to decorate a 5-by-7 inch frame made from corrugated cardboard. 

Presented in conjunction with the exhibition James Barnor: Accra/London, on view through October 15.

The New York International Children’s Film Festival’s collection of Spanish-language shorts spans genres, styles, and geographic regions to present a rich slice of Hispanic and Latinx storytelling that is perfect for celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.  

These amazing short films were audience favorites and award winners at the 2022 New York International Children’s Film Festival, and are sure to inspire curiosity and conversation for viewers big and small. 

For ages 9 and up. In Spanish, Portuguese, and O'odham with English subtitles. (66min.) 

Advanced registration is encouraged.

Please come to a live, on-screen event with Pulitzer Prize-winning and international best-selling author Noah Charney and DIA Deputy Director of Art, Education, and Programs Judith Dolkart.

They will be discussing Charney’s latest book, Brushed Aside, a deep and focused look at the history of women in the art world that celebrates great women artists and influencers whose work has been overlooked far too long.

Following the talk, join a DIA docent-led tour of women artists highlighted by Charney.
