Natural Harmonics Trio consists of Phyllis Chen (piano, electronics), Zach Layton (21-string guitar), and Hamir Atwal (drums). The trio performs music improvised around natural harmonics, exploring instruments in unique and unusual ways.
Phyllis Chen is a founding member of the ICEensemble, the International Contemporary Ensemble based in New York City, and she also founded the UnCaged Toy Piano Festival, a three-day event featuring new works and a variety of toy instrumentalists and sound-makers.
