Diamond Soirée: 60 Years of Culture and Connection
On Thursday, September 18, the Founders Junior Council invites you to celebrate its 60th anniversary at the Diamond Soirée—an unforgettable evening of music, food, and dancing set within the iconic spaces of the Detroit Institute of Arts.
Since 1965, the Founders Junior Council (FJC) has been a driving force behind the Detroit Institute of Arts—raising critical funds, building community, and shaping future leadership. As the DIA’s premier young professionals group, FJC sponsors major exhibitions, supports art acquisitions and helps fund educational programs, conservation, and gallery renovations. In its earliest years, FJC kept the museum open during times of financial crisis through initiatives like Super Sundays.
This 60th anniversary celebration is more than a party—it’s a homecoming. FJC alumni return to honor a legacy built on friendship, philanthropy, and a shared passion for the arts. Today, more than 25% of the DIA’s elected board began in FJC, continuing the council’s legacy of cultivating lifelong museum supporters.
From art purchases to enduring partnerships, FJC’s influence is deeply woven into the fabric of the DIA—and the next chapter is just beginning.
