Inscribed in upper right corner: (I've long admired the leisurely wilderness spirit of Master Tang, / Who built his home and lived among the white cluds. / In the response [of his art] he loved only the old northern regions, / And he did not paint the mountains of Jiangnan after rain. / [signed] Qian Kui, with one seal) [translated by Richard Barnhart, 2018] Inscribed in upper left corner: (Master Tang had a deep passion for painting, / The fresh clarity of his art is truly delightful. / Light clouds and pale mists circle tall pines, / A stream runds through winding valleys. / Storied mansions sit among the verdure, / And fishing boats drift on green waters. / If hills and valleys did not fill his breast, / How could he have produced such art! / [signed] Chen Mei, with one seal) [translated by Richard Barnhart, 2018]
