In 2013, The Detroit All Star Revue paid tribute to the Motor City’s rich jazz legacy. A decade later, the great Marion Hayden returns to the Revue to curate another magical evening. This year’s program will take the audience on a musical journey that pays tribute to the Titans of Detroit Jazz, featuring the brightest stars on the scene today.

This event will feature Dave McMurray, A. Spencer Barefield, Isis Damily, Alvin Waddles, Thornetta Davis, and the Gabriel Brass Band (Detroit). 
 

Concert of Colors is metro Detroit’s free annual global music festival, an upbeat event celebrating diverse World music traditions-including the indigenous music of the Motor City. The festival also hosts the Forum on Community, Culture and Race, a series of conversations with artists, cultural and community leaders examining the role of the arts in overcoming social barriers.

Detroit trio Infinite River plays a sprawling, peaceful form of instrumental psychedelia that incorporates layers of soothing, gauzy guitar textures as well as harmonium and tanpura drones. The group's members are veterans of the Michigan music scene, having played in bands such as His Name Is Alive, Slumber Party, Detroit Cobras, and many others. The musicians released an album with folk troubadour Ethan Daniel Davidson as Seedsmen to the World before releasing their debut LP as Infinite River, Prequel, in 2023.

“Detroit’s Queen of the Blues” Thornetta Davis is a singer, songwriter and recording artist. Her strong voice, melodic command and smooth delivery have been wowing audiences around the world for over 30 years. Backed by a band of veteran Detroit musicians, she tells her stories with incredible delivery, always leaving her audiences wanting more.

Davis has shared the stage with legendary blues and R&B greats including as Ray Charles, Etta James, Buddy Guy, and more. She has received many awards, including “Living Lifetime Achievement Award” from the Detroit Blues Society, a star on the Canada South Blues Museum Walk of Fame, and in 2023, was named “Soul Blues Female Artist of the Year” at the Blues Music Awards.

Julian Marley is a British-Jamaican reggae musician, songwriter, producer, and humanitarian, and the son of reggae legend Bob Marley. His 1996 debut Lion in the Morning launched his musical career; in 2010 his album Awake won Best Album of the Year at the International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA).
