Teens, ages 13-19, are invited to join the Teen Arts Council at the Detroit Institute of Arts to explore the meaning of Día de Muertos, or Day of the Dead, by decorating a remembrance candle!

Learn about the history of the Mexican holiday from our special guest speaker from the Mexican Consulate in Detroit and see what Día de Muertos means to local artists in the exhibition Ofrendas: Celebrating el Día de Muertos. Finally, teens create their own remembrance candle to connect the meaning and history of Día de Muertos with their personal lives. A free taco lunch is included at the end of the event!

Registration is limited so sign up today!
