In this past year DIA studio instructors worked with long-term partners as well as new partners, at the DIA artmaking studio and at locations throughout the tri-counties. Projects included vinyl wall designs, initial projects, printmaking, open-ended clay, still life drawing, wood sculpture, and tile garden designs.
This Community Group Art Exhibition features human service agencies from Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties. Over 100 projects will be on view in the Learning Center at the DIA, adjacent to the artmaking studios where most of the work was made.
This year’s participating groups are:
- ACCESS Hope House
- CARE of Southeastern Michigan
- Detroit Recovery Project
- Hannan Center
- The John D. Dingell VA Medical Center
- Macomb County Community Mental Health
- Mariners Inn
- OLHSA (Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency’s Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program)
The 15th Annual Community Group Art Exhibition is organized by the Detroit Institute of Arts and is supported by millage funding by Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties.
