In this two-hour session led by a DIA Artmaking Studio Instructor, you’ll use clay slabs to create a one-of-a-kind ceramic lantern. By wrapping clay around cylindrical forms and using basic tools for texturing and cut-outs, you’ll shape your design and finish it with liquid underglaze colors.

The lanterns will then be kiln-fired and ready for pickup in two to three weeks—perfect for use with candles to add a warm, decorative touch to your home.

Advance registration is required; capacity is limited.

Recommended for ages 12 and up. Youth under 16 must be accompanied by a guardian.
