Teachers, please join us for the 2026 Black History Month Educator Workshop, a professional development opportunity hosted by the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History!

During the workshop, participants will learn about everything the DIA and the Wright offer teachers and students. The day will start with an Africana field trip preview and discussion of learning resources designed to support the new Reimagine African American Art galleries at the DIA.

After lunch, we will walk to the Wright to explore the life, mission, and vision of Dr. Charles H. Wright.

Teachers will discuss how passion shapes instruction, engages students, and connects learning to real-world experiences. We will also take a deep dive into extracting meaningful cross-curricular lessons by closely examining the I, Charles exhibit.

All educators are welcome. 4 SCECHs are pending approval.
