Join the DIA and the Friends of Asian Arts and Cultures in celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with our annual ensemble Celebration Show, featuring community groups and professional artists presenting a blend of traditional and contemporary dance, music, and more from diverse cultures.
With special guest speakers, a display of works by locally based Asian American visual artists in the Great Hall, and docent-led tours of the Asian Galleries, this is an afternoon dedicated to highlighting the voices and stories of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities.
Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month (AAPIHM) programs are developed in partnership with the DIA’s auxiliary group Friends of Asian Arts and Cultures (FAAC), with support from the Michigan Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission (MAPAAC).
