About the Artwork

In the panels of this screen, artist Kim Gyujin enhances traditional ink painting with colored paper. Each panel depicts a plant with symbolic meaning. From right to left, they are:
• Pine – longevity
• Orchid – modesty
• Peony – nobility, prosperity
• Lotus – purity
• Parasol tree – harmonious life
• Fingered citron – happiness, longevity
• Chrysanthemum – resilience
• Pomegranate – fertility
• Bamboo – integrity
• Plum blossom – endurance
