Inscription, pencil, full page: Sketch of my tour to the white mountains with Mr. Pratt [unsure] We left Concord at the [indecipherable] in the morning of the 2 Oct. 1820 it was very dark| and the rain fell in torrents for several hours over {indecipherable} was disagreeable both to account of the rain and [indecipherable] of the roads. Towards the middle of the | day the clouds began to break, and as we were entering into a very picturesque region we forgot the irksomeness of the road.| the clouds rose from the numerous pieces of water with which this country is intersected [unsure]. and being
