Signed, in plate, upper left edge, with Whistler's butterfly monogram; signed, in graphite, below the plate line, lower left, with Whistler's butterfly monogram, followed by the abbreviation "imp."
Inscribed, in pencil, in Whistler's hand, verso, lower right corner, 'specially chosen' with two quality 'o's and a small tight example of Whistler's butterfly monogram. Inscribed, in another hand, verso, NK (or MK or MC) and 'charm;" and, lower left, 14419 (a dealer stock number).
