Sol LeWitt utilized his interest in geometry and spatial relations to construct sculptures based on a grid form. Employing mathematical concepts, he joined open, identical cubes together to form proportionately larger units where the outline of the cubes suggests the completed volumes. The purity of the whole is reinforced by the monochrome white surface and the repetition of the simple, cubic forms.
