Public party to preview the Detroit Institute of Arts exhibition “D-Cyphered: Portraits by Jenny Risher”

WHAT:    A preview party to see the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) Detroit hip-hop photography exhibition, “D-Cyphered: Portraits by Jenny Risher,” before it opens to the public Aug. 4.

Music by Nick Speed, a platinum-credited hip-hop producer who has produced tracks for 50 Cent, Mopreme Shakur, Lloyd Banks, M.O.P and many more.

Light snacks, cash bar.

WHO:    Guests can meet and mingle with Jenny Risher and several of the musical artists featured in the exhibition.

WHEN:    Thursday, Aug. 3, 8 p.m.

WHERE:    Detroit Institute of Arts, 5200 Woodward Ave.

TICKETS:    Tickets are $25 and are expected to sell out quickly. Purchase online at bit.ly/DCypheredOpening or call 313.833.4005. Tickets can also be purchased at any DIA admission desk with cash or credit card.

OTHER:  v “D-Cyphered: Portraits by Jenny Risher” includes 80 photographs featuring hip-hop artists, producers, emcees, DJs and promoters who were pioneers, innovators and superstars respected throughout Detroit and globally, as well as those who were involved in hip hop’s creation and who sustained it through the years.
