Installation of Detroit Institute of Arts popular Inside|Out is Underway

May 9, 2022 (DETROIT) - The Detroit Institute of Arts Inside|Out pieces will be installed in the 26 cities chosen for the 2022 program starting on Monday, May 9 and continuing throughout the month. Each community will display between four and 10 reproductions.

Inside|Out brings high-quality reproductions of masterpieces from the DIA’s collection to outdoor venues throughout metro Detroit. Through this program, the DIA has partnered with more than 100 communities across the region.

Pieces will be on view from May through early November. The current installation schedule is below. Weather conditions can impact installation.

Installation was don In Holly and Lincoln Park on Monday, May 9. Birmingham and River Rouge was installed on Tuesday, May 10.

  • Centerline at 7 a.m.
  • Southfield at 7 a.m.

Monday, May 16

  • Warren at 10 a.m.
  • Farmington at 10 a.m.
  • Freedom Hill at 2 p.m.
  • Osborn Neighborhood Alliance at 7 p.m.

Tuesday, May 17

  • Hamtramck at 9 a.m.
  • Roseville at 9 a.m.

  • Armada at 7 a.m.
  • New Baltimore at 7 a.m.

May 19

  • Greektown at 9 a.m.
  • Macomb Community College at 9 a.m.
  • Canton at 5 p.m.

May 20

  • Oakland Community College at 10 a.m.
    • Royal Oak, Southfield, Farmington Hills campuses
  • Rouge Park at 9 a.m.

May 23

  • Oakland Community College at 7 a.m.
    • Highland Lakes, Auburn Hills campuses
  • Indian Springs and Wolcott Mill  Metroparks at 8 a.m.

 Once install is complete, maps of the arts location in each community on the DIA’ website at www.dia.org/insideout.  Installation times may be impacted by weather.
