Detroit Institute of Arts hosts public presentations from eight semi-finalists in design competition | Competition to develop the public space around DIA and connect neighboring cultural organizations

June 5, 2018 (Detroit)The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) and Midtown Detroit Inc. (MDI) invite the public to attend a series of presentations and interviews on June 13 and 14 from the eight design teams engaged in a competition to develop the space around the DIA and connect it to neighboring cultural organizations.

Out of 44 applications, the project jury selected eight teams to present their qualifications and visions to the jury and the public. Each team will give a 45-minute presentation followed by 35 minutes for questions from the jury and audience. Based on these in-person presentations and public feedback, the jury will select three teams to create conceptual plans that will be presented to the public Jan. 23, 2019.

The presentations are in the DIA’s Marvin & Betty Danto Lecture Hall and there is no charge to attend. However, pre-registration is preferred at http://bit.ly/DesignFinalistsRegistration.
