Detroit Institute of Arts celebrates MuseumWeek’s theme of ‘Togetherness’ with video message of unity for the region

WHAT: As part of Museum Week, the DIA celebrates the visitors that bring the museum to life. From field trips, to the art studio and the film theatre, the museum is simply not the same without them! The DIA staff, working in the museum and at home, have come together to say thank you to our visitors and share what they are missing most right now, with a special thanks to the essential staff that have continued to go to work to keep the collection and the building safe and secure.

WHY: Museum Week is a virtual, cultural event featuring museums from more than 100 countries on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other social media channels using hashtags (#) as themes. This year’s flagship theme is Togetherness, and Wednesday’s hashtag is #togetherMW (Together Museum Week), providing an opportunity for the DIA to send a special message to visitors.
