DFT Family Films at Home!

Updated Jul 20, 2022

Education

We’re joining with one of our favorite annual events at the DIA, the New York International Children’s Film Festival (NYICFF), to bring you animated films to watch with your family at home, including their first-ever Short Takes series of free short videos together with recommendations of festival films available from popular streaming services.

Mouse Guest

The NYICFF Short Takes series is an opportunity for playful inspiration, creative exploration, and empathy-generating discussion. First up, Perfect Houseguest tells the tale of a delightful mouse in the house in just a minute and a half.

Here are some questions to get the conversation going:

Why do you think the filmmakers decided to use a mouse to tell this story?

What are some words you would use to describe the mouse in this film or one in your home?

Think of another animal in your house. What unexpected things would be funny to see them doing? Draw a picture inspired by your ideas!
