In 2025, Mr. B (Mark Braun) will host his annual Blues and Boogie Piano Celebration, paying tribute to Detroit boogie-woogie legend Frank "Sugar Chile" Robinson. Born in 1938, Robinson was a piano prodigy, winning a talent show at Detroit's Paradise Theatre at age three.
By 1945, he had performed with Lionel Hampton on the radio and appeared in the film No Leave, No Love. Robinson famously played for President Harry S. Truman at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner in 1946. Robinson will be joined by Braun and other international masters for an unforgettable evening of powerful and expressive keyboard performances.
