DIA Releases New Audio Tours on Bloomberg Connects, Including Artist Mario Moore’s “Mario’s Museum”

DETROIT, MI (December 3, 2025) — As metro Detroiters welcome friends and family for the holidays, the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) is spotlighting a series of new and recently released audio experiences on its Bloomberg Connects digital guide—offering visitors an engaging way to explore the museum together this season.
The expanded guide on the free Bloomberg Connects app features fresh audio content, including a newly released 10-stop highlights tour, deep-dive tours of the Detroit Industry Murals and the DIA’s armor collection, and Mario’s Museum, a special narrative tour created and voiced by Detroit-born artist Mario Moore. These offerings give holiday visitors more ways than ever to connect with the DIA’s world-class collection.

Gargaro Jr. Director, President, and CEO of the Detroit Institute of Arts. “These new audio experiences allow visitors to see the museum in a fresh way, whether they’re introducing loved ones to the DIA for the first time or revisiting their favorite galleries. We’re proud to offer digital tools that make visits more engaging and memorable.”
The DIA’s highlights tour features 10 stops narrated by curators who share artist insights, historical interpretation, and behind-the-scenes stories about works such as Diego Rivera’s Detroit Industry Murals and Vincent van Gogh’s Self-Portrait. The tour also includes highlights from American, European, African, and Asian art collections.
The guide also debuts Mario’s Museum, an original audio experience created by Detroit artist Mario Moore. Through personal reflections and artistic insight, Moore invites listeners to explore selected works across the museum with him—offering a uniquely contemporary and Detroit-rooted perspective on the DIA’s collection.
Alongside these audio experiences, the Bloomberg Connects guide includes an updated interactive museum map that pinpoints the locations of each stop, along with practical visitor information, such as the museum location and accessibility information. QR codes placed throughout the galleries allow visitors to access audio content directly from their mobile devices.
