DETROIT (August 3, 2022) – The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) has named Kate Spratt as Chief Financial Officer. Spratt will join the DIA on August 29, 2022.

Spratt has served as the Chief Financial Officer for Detroit’s Neighborhood Service Organization (NSO) since May 2019. In her role at NSO, Spratt managed all fiscal functions of the organization and its subsidiaries. Prior to her work at NSO, Spratt served as Vice President of Financial Management Services with private consulting firm, Corporate F.A.C.T.S., where she provided financial management services to non-profit clients. Spratt completed her BBA in Business Administration at the University of Michigan and a Nonprofit Management Certificate at Georgetown University.

“The DIA is in the best financial position in its modern history: carries no debt, no operating deficit and is focused on long term financial security, having more than doubled its operating endowment in the last few years,” said DIA Director Salvador Salort-Pons. “Kate’s extensive experience will ensure that we continue on this path, and her deep connections in the community will support our engagement work with the tri-counties.”

At the DIA, Spratt will be responsible for instilling financial discipline within the museum and overseeing finances, accounting, investments, procurement, and retail operations. She will ensure all financial and operational aspects of the museum reflect its commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity and access (IDEA) and are in alignment with the DIA’s mission and vision. She will also build and maintain relationships with the Board of Directors and Executive Committee and lead the Finance, Audit, and Investment Committees.
