Detroit Institute of Arts announces Inside|Out 2026 locations
Updated Apr 28, 2026
Detroit, MI – The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) is proud to announce the communities participating in Inside|Out 2026. Now in its 17th year, the program brings reproductions from the DIA’s collection to outdoor spaces in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties. Following another overwhelmingly positive response in 2025, Inside|Out will also return to Mackinac Island in 2026. Through this program, the DIA invites residents to discover art in new ways, fostering a deeper connection between the museum and its community in the Tri-County area.
“We’re looking forward to once again bringing Inside|Out to the Tri-County communities and seeing residents experience the collection in their own backyards,” said Julie McFarland, Executive Director of Public Affairs and Engagement at the DIA. “We hope that seeing art in this way inspires people to visit the museum to experience the original works—and the full breadth of the collection—in person.”
