Moss is an Interpretive Programs Volunteer (IPV) at the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA). IPV volunteers give guided public tours, Since completing her volunteer training in 2007 she has participated in school tours, assisted with the DIA Staff/Volunteer Coffee, conducted public tour scheduling as part of the Docent (now known as IPV) Board , and the Family Fitting Room where she assists visitors by planning a self guided tour based on their interests.
This upcoming year Moss is looking forward to doing more school tours, special tours and working with members of the IPV board.
Volunteering at the DIA has given Moss opportunities for growth, perspective and treasured friendships. She believes it may be impossible for her to give as much as she has received at the museum. Her favorite program is the Family Fitting Room where she thrives on sharing the DIA with families, helping create opportunities for them to have personal experiences in the museum that will hopefully create lifelong memories and lead to a lifetime of involvement with the arts.
When not volunteering at the DIA, Moss can be found creating new dishes for the vegetarians in the family, catering for friends, sewing, privately enjoying her violin and piano, and taking life-drawing classes.
